Brenda Montecalvo, OD, FOVDR, FAAO, FCSO has provided primary care optometry and optometric vision therapy (OVT) to her patients in a private practice setting for over 35 years.
In addition to presenting the Cedarville Seminars for Optometric Vision Therapy, she is a sought-after international lecturer who is passionate about the areas of neuro-optometric rehabilitation (NOR), strabismus, amblyopia, OVT, prescribing of therapeutic lenses, preventive eye care, and practice management (PM). She is the founder and Dean of the Vision Aces Academy.
She is author of the book Visual Secrets for School Success, co-author of the American Optometric Association (AOA) Brain Injury Electronic Resource Manual, and has authored several articles about NOR, OVT and PM.
Dr. Montecalvo is a member of the AOA InfantSEE Committee and the AOA Vision Therapy Task Force, and is the Past-Chair of the AOA Vision Rehabilitation Section (VRS).
She is President of the College of Syntonic Optometry, Past-President of the Ohio Optometric Association, Past-President of the Neuro-Optometric Rehabilitation Association (NORA), Co-Chair of the John Streff Invitational Lens Symposium, and trustee of the Vision Leads Foundation.
She recently received the G.N. Getman Award from the College of Optometrists in Vision Development (COVD).
Dr. Montecalvo is a Fellow of the Optometric Vision Development and Rehabilitation Association, Fellow of the American Academy of Optometry, Fellow of the College of Syntonic Optometry, and has achieved Skill Level II in NORA. She graduated with distinction from Pacific University College of Optometry.
Dr. Montecalvo’s interests include enjoying time with her children and granddaughter, being active in her church, gardening, and operating a horse farm with her husband, Anthony.
